Social Network Analysis
Lada Adamic
This course will use social network analysis, both its theory
and computational tools, to make sense of the social and information networks
that have been fueled and rendered accessible by the
internet.
Dear FIX,
The videos and assignments have been posted for week 4. It's all about finding community structure in networks. Big thanks to the early bird Monday testers.

- HW 3 (part 1, part 2) is due today/tomorrow (depending on the timezone you are in). We will be crunching and double checking PageRank numbers until sometime on Weds. at which point we'll announce the result of the PageRank competition. We've had a sneak-peek at the network, and yes, there are some hubs, but also some interesting developments. If you are still having trouble getting the grader to accept your answer here are some tips: plain text file, 2 lines, each line contains an email address or a "no". Here is an online plain text editor: http://www.editpad.org/, if you don't have one.
- HW 4 is due next Tuesday.
- Optional PA 3 is due next Friday.
- Google Hangout on 10/17 at 10:30am PDT for those doing a programming project for this class. Sign up here
- We've updated the SNA Tools section of the Course Wiki to include additional tools and resources that have been shared and promoted within our forums. Some of these resources were written by some of our very own course participants! For those who happen to be new (or relatively newer) to programming, we've included some links we also thought might be useful/helpful (e.g. Coursera Interactive Programming Course in Python, Code Academy, etc.). Thanks also to those who have been filling in the lecture notes, they look great.
See you in class,
Social Network Analysis Course Staff
